Your Choice: Victim or Survivor

Everyone has the right to feel safe, secure and comfortable; unfortunately women have always been considered the best possible victim for the irate husband, boyfriend, mugger or rapist. Whether you like it or not, this threat will not go away. The possibility of physical assault or rape does exist and has been on the increase in most metropolitan areas, college campuses and in our own Lake Havasu City.

Latest FBI statistics reveal a woman is raped or assaulted every five minutes and potentially exposed to some form of sexual or physical assault during her lietime.

I believe the right of self-preservation does exist and that active resistance by screaming, kicking, biting, scratching or using any form of weapon available is the key to survival. Laws pertaining to the use of excessive force vary from state to state, but potential victims of rape or assault should not concern themselves with juris prudence, but only with survival. It is better to survive and be confronted with possible legal action than to be the victim of a violent assault or rape.
